Brendan Thompson is an artist currently based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
Coming from a background as a graffiti artist, his practice is focused on capturing the textural
chaos of urban spaces through more traditional mediums. His work can be seen as a response to
the inherently temporal nature of graffiti, taking a stance against the prolific censorship,
suppression, and removal of "undesirable" art on the street. His method often explores the
results of the intersection between "normal" mediums, such as oil paints & ink, and substances
not necessarily associated with works on canvas, such as wax & found items from the street. He
began transitioning from graffiti 'proper' in 2021 and has been active as an artist since then.
